Chair..

Hazards


There is an extensive list of hazards when it comes to the chair you sit on, a few of these are:
- Poor back support
- Chair can tip over when user leans over too far

- Chair / desk height is incorrectly adjusted



Possible injuries

The possible injuries from these hazards include the following:
- Injuring your back
- Falling off your chair
- Straining/slouching to reach desk
Minimze risk

To minimze risk of injury the employee and employer should:
- Chair height is correctly adjusted when the entire sole of the foot can rest on the floor, and the back of the knee is slightly clear of edge of seat

- Check that chair is fitted with a 5 star base

- Have an ergonomic assessment undertaken
